Top 3 Advantages of a Car

Because of the challenges of insecurity in the present society, the Car DVR is now a tool for people who would like to keep their vehicle under surveillance against theft or accidents. Yet, most people have not come to appreciate its importance as a security and safety facility for their cars.

The term “DVR” means digital video recorder. Here are top 3 benefits you can derive from a car DVR if it is installed in your car.

First and foremost, it is advisable to get the DVR system for all vehicles, most especially emergency vehicles like taxis or cabs since they pick and drop people throughout the day. If you unknowingly pick up an alcoholic passenger at a late night time, you may be in a dangerous situation. Nonetheless, if the digital video recorder is already installed in your car, it will offer you extra security. You will be able to document the complete events that may transpire between you and your passenger, if peradventure you face any threatening behaviour from such a passenger. This will be good evidence for you to defend yourself during the investigations of law enforcement agencies.

The Car DVR can also be used to address the claims of accidents. The system is being used today to record all the events of a journey so that if an accident happens, the footage of the video will serve as evidence. The documentations of the camera play a vital role in protecting you from wrong accusations on the cause of the accident; it also prevents the possibility of high claims from your insurance company. The documentations of the DVR system consist of the condition of the road, the traffic load, the weather condition at the time the accident takes place, and the behavior or act of the driver prior to the crash. These are useful for investigations.

The device is quite beneficial too as regards giving you the consciousness of safe driving. You will want to drive carefully, knowing that you’re being monitored by the camera. So, it helps to develop a good driving habit in compliance with traffic rules and regulations. By so doing, the chances of having an auto crash coupled with its attending insurance claims will be greatly reduced.

Heads-Up Displays and High

When it comes to automotive tech devices on the modern automobile it is amazing what companies, researchers, and prototype development specialist come up with. Much of this technology is borrowed from the military as hand-me-downs or transfer technologies. After the military has had it for a decade or more they eventually allow it into the public domain. We see a lot of this, and we’re going to see more of it when it comes to autonomous automobiles. Cars which park themselves, stop themselves, drive themselves, and can take over in heavy fog or prevent emergencies and accidents.

Another such interesting safety device would be HUD or Heads-Up Displays. This is where you see everything on the window or windshield in front of you rather than on the dashboard. All the information you need is projected, so you never have to look down. This would be especially good for people using their radios while they are driving, looking at their GPS, or watching their speedometer, or other things. Still, it is somewhat of a distraction, but it is much safer than looking down away from the road and bringing your eyes back up to refocus on what’s going on outside of the vehicle.

If you are traveling 60 to 80 mph, you will typically cover quite a bit of roadway if you glance down for a few seconds and then look up again. A lot can happen at those speeds, and let’s not even discuss those who are really going fast when they shouldn’t be. You can obviously see the value in racing, and this might also keep individuals from becoming accident prone distracted drivers. Should the new HUD systems be put on our modern-day automobiles for the public?

The Wall Street Journal had an interesting article on January, 26, 2013 titled; “Car Makers Take A Serious Look at Head-Up Displays,” by Chester Dawson. Well, this technology is over 3-decades old you know, it’s about time. I wonder if the so-called distraction will cause accidents, as many humans are not all that smart, and what about seniors? Will it be confusing to them and their aging eyesight? It takes time to adjust from near to far focus for the elderly.

Yes, that makes a very good point doesn’t it? What about the elderly who have vision problems? If they are having troubles seeing up close it might take them a while to focus on what is on the windshield, or vice versa if they have the other problem. Yes, it is probably better than them looking inside the vehicle and totally taking their eyes off of what is in front of them, but this might be more than their brains can process in the amount of time need be while traveling at higher rates of speed, such as on the freeway.

Putting In An Extreme High

The other day, I was walking through a parking lot and a young man had his hood open and jumper cables attached to his car battery. He asked for a jump, unfortunately, I didn’t have my truck with me, just a little sports car and I doubt that would suffice, nor did I much want to risk damaging my own electrical system, you know everything these days is high-tech, and costly to fix, you need a computer and it’s not like the old days when you could do everything yourself without a master mechanics certificate for each make and model.

Okay so, let’s talk because I felt bad for the chap. You see the young man told me he had to go pick up his girlfriend and he was already late. I told him there is a slight slope to this parking lot, let’s just push it out of the stall and face it that-a-way. He said it was an automatic – bummer I thought, well that’s what you get I guess. The kid had a few tattoos and I realized that the chances of him flagging down anyone were not in his favor. So, I began talking with him thinking as soon as someone came by, I’d approach them myself and he’d thus, have a way better chance to get a jump.

As I was discussing with him what had happened he told me of his new stereo system. Unfortunately, he didn’t upgrade his alternator, or put in another batteries and it was over taxing his system. This is the fourth time he’d been stuck, and I wondered if assisting him would help him learn his lesson. What might that be you ask? Well, let me explain.

The reality is that far prior to the installation the installer must consider the size of the alternator, and draw down requirements of the system to run, along with what other systems in the vehicle will need to run at optimum. Merely, paying a friend to help you install a new car audio system isn’t enough, especially if they don’t have any experience, trial by fire, or actual automotive electrical knowledge. Further, these late model cars are designed the way they are for a reason, they are engineered for optimum and not for over-the-top high-end mega-wattage sound systems. See that point.

Yes, we did find someone with a big Ford Dually, and he jumped it without a problem, and yet, I wonder if my lecture to the kid sunk in. If not, he’ll be stranded again and his girlfriend will dump him? Hell, I wonder if she’s good looking, either way she definitely needs an upgrade in boyfriends if you think about it.

How To Install Car Audio

This reading is going to contain the basics for installing everything from power upgrades to how to install door speakers. I will touch on power upgrades under the hood, amplifier installation, speaker installation, head unit installation, and sub woofer installation.

The first thing I would recommend to anyone buying audio equipment would be to talk to someone that knows what they are talking about and then purchase online! I say this because audio equipment tends to be grossly overpriced and typically most audio shops will not have exactly everything you need. The system in my car was purchased online down to the ring terminals I used. Also for audio installation there are plenty of videos on YouTube that are of great use during beginner installation. All of that being said talk to someone who knows what they are talking about, come up with a budget, determine what you want out of your system (loud, high quality, etc.), and finally purchase the necessary components on the internet.

Amplifiers draw a lot of power from a cars battery so the first thing that should be done is to “beef up” the electrical system in your car. In varies in the degree of application, very high powered amps will require a second battery and multiple amps could require a second battery, but it can also be as simple as something like the big 3. The big 3 is a basic way to improve the flow of electricity from the alternator to the battery to the ground. For this you will need some good wire I use 0 gauge wire and some ring terminals, I recommend spending the extra dollar for the good ring terminals. Lastly, you could include a fuse, but it is not necessary. Get your wires all to the right length appropriately attach the ring terminals. Now you’re ready to add these three wires the first wire goes between the alternators positive and the positive post on the battery. The second wire goes from the ground on the engine to the negative post on your battery. The last wire goes from any bare metal place you can find in the engine bay to the negative post on your battery. Once you have installed these three wires the electrical system in your car is ready for a rather powerful system.

What Is the Importance of Buying a Dash Camera?

You have been driving your car for a long time. Being a good and experienced driver, you make sure that you never go beyond the speed limit, don’t jump red lights or talking to someone using your phone while talking. Let’s face it. All of us must have had a close encounter with an accident while walking, cycling or driving. There are people who don’t show any concern about other’s lives and as a result, it leads to accidents or a near miss. If you have been a victim of road rage, or slightly missed an accident which could have proved to be fatal for you, all these reasons largely make up for the fact why you should go for a dash cam.

If you are eager to know what a “dash cam” is all about, its definition is given below.

Dash Cam – It is also known as a dashboard camera, car DVR, car camera, or an accident recorder, but the fact cannot be disregarded that they record a lot more than just accidents. Dash cams are cameras which are equipped to the front and sometimes at the rear end of the vehicle. These cameras have an ability to record anything without pause. With this amazing piece of gadget, the drivers stay relaxed with a feeling that everything will be recorded in case a mishap takes place. They are loaded with multiple recording modes and also have a built-in GPS system that shows the speed and location of the vehicle.

There has been an enormous demand in the purchase of dash cams and these cameras can be found in a huge variety. So, you can buy the one as per your need and convenience. You don’t want your camera to stick out on the windshield of your car. You can get them even in a smaller size. If the size of your camera is a small one, nobody would be able to suspect that you already have a dash camera mounted on your car’s front windshield. This camera can also be fixed on your dashboard and will record everything that takes place while you’re driving.

Dash cameras can be bought at the price which does not burn a hole in your pocket and have become a hot product nowadays. They are extensively used by bus drivers, police officers, taxi drivers and private car owners to record anything while they are on the move.

Has this technology begun to catch the attention of the civilians?

Absolutely! If you want to buy a dash cam, you can

Audio Visual Installation

Audio visual services come in very handy in different occasions and events. The equipment used ensure that people get a clear sight and audio of what is happening or whatever is being presented regardless of the crowd. It is through the audio visual equipment that huge crowds are managed without the need for everyone to be near the speaker at the event. They can be placed in strategic areas of the grounds or location so that all people in attendance can be catered to.

The system can also be installed in homes to enhance enjoyment. But the most common areas where the installations are needed are in sports stadiums, retail outlets, military bases, training rooms, schools, colleges, boardrooms and even motor dealerships. The systems are used to pass across important messages or presentations depending on the demands of location or client needs. This industry has a number of installation and equipment that can be used to match the needs at hand. Some of them are

· Digital posters or video walls

· Digital projectors

· Smart screens and touch screens

· Digital visualizers

· White boards

· PA solutions or sound systems

· Lighting solutions

· Security enclosures for screens

Whatever your need is, there are a few considerations that you should make to make sure that you get the best installations for your needs. Here are a few of those important aspects that you should pay attention to.

To hire or buy – Most of the audio visual equipment can be very expensive, hence are best hired if you have a onetime event or events that are not that regular. You should, however consider buying the equipment you need if you run a business that requires you have them round the clock. Whether hiring or buying, choose suppliers and installers you can fully rely on.

Your specific needs – The event you have or the needs you need to serve using the audio visual installation will determine the equipment you need to serve all your needs. Choose suppliers and installers who have everything that you need for your event. It is much easier to hire everything you need from one supplier as it can also attract discounts to you apart from saving you time looking for everything you need.

The installation – Choose a company that does not only offer quality equipment, but one that also has qualified installers to handle your needs. The installers should be able to determine the number of systems needed and the perfect locations for them within your location besides getting it right with all connections that are necessary. If you are not familiar with operating the audio visual systems, consider the services of technicians for the event or some sort of training from them to take you through the basics of operating if you need the installation for long term use.

It’s not enough to simply register a domain from the first place you find

Buying a domain name is a relatively simple process, but it can be confusing managing them. There are a lot of options to consider, and there are hundreds of registrars to choose from.

There are several important decisions you’ll need to make. It’s not enough to simply register a domain from the first place you find. You need to choose the best possible domain for your website, buy from a registrar you can trust, and manage it effectively.

You’ll also need to decide whether or not you want to use WHOIS protection, whether to park the domain, and how long to register it. Believe or not, these things do make a difference.

So let’s get started so that you can find out exactly how to register a domain and manage it correctly.

Choosing a Registrar

The first thing you need to do is decide which registrar you wish to use. GoDaddy is a popular choice, but I don’t recommend it. According to many people, they are prone to disabling domains even over false spam reports, and then charging a huge fee to reinstate the domain, even if you can prove you did nothing wrong.

NameCheap is a popular option. They have free WHOIS protection for the first year of each domain, and they have a coupon each month that lets you get a nice discount, making each domain less than $10.

I will use NameCheap as the example in this guide, because I consider it to be the best registrar. It is affordable, the support is good, and their interface is easy to use.

I don’t recommend using the domain services of a hosting company. They will often hold your domain hostage and make it difficult to transfer it if you decide to leave their hosting. Always register your domain yourself, and always do it directly through a registrar.

Finding a Domain Name

Many people believe all the good domain names are taken. This isn’t true. While it’s true that you aren’t going to be able to pick up books.com or anything similar, there are still plenty of great domains available.

In order to choose the right domain for your purposes, you need to decide what you’re going to use the domain for. There are two main classifications.

Keyword Domains

If you want to create a niche-based blog or website or you want to invest in a domain that you can sell for a profit later, you’ll want to buy a keyword-based domain name.

You should look for domain names that have high-traffic keywords. If you wanted to make a site about Discount Golf Clubs, you would ideally want to get DiscountGolfClubs.com.

Keyword domains, especially for keywords that get significant numbers of searches, also have great resale value. You could buy a domain for $10 and flip it for hundreds, or even thousands.

Branding Domains

If you want to create a site that will be branded like Pinterest or Flickr, you can be a little more creative. You’ll want to get a one word domain (or two at most). But you can use creative spelling.

When buying a domain for branding purposes:
1. Look for a word that won’t be too difficult to spell. Flickr is relatively easy to remember, but Fotograffi might not be. Too many letters are changed. People might not remember which ones are different from the original word. It should be memorable.
2. Choose a word that fits your niche. For a site about golf, you might get something like Puttr.com, for example.
3. Integrate your branding. Make sure you can craft a logo that will help people remember your domain name.

Warning: Do NOT search for domain names on any registrar until you are ready to buy! Some registrars make deals with speculators to provide recently searched names to them. They buy the domains and then charge a premium for them later.

Registering a Domain

Once it’s time to register a domain, you need to keep a few things in mind. First, don’t use fake information during the registration process. You could get your domain taken away from you later, which would be a real shame if you’ve built significant traffic to it.

Second, you’ll probably want to register all of your domains with the same registrar. It gets tedious having to worry about your domains at multiple registrars.

You’ll also need to decide whether or not you want to use WHOIS protection, and how long to register the domain for.

WHOIS Protection

Many people automatically opt for WHOIS protection, but this isn’t always the best option. Some SEO experts have suggested that Google and other search engines may penalize sizes who have their registration information protected.

Additionally, some customers may not trust you if you protect your information. This could result in lost sales.

However, if you are worried about people finding out what you’re doing or coming to your home, you may wish to use WHOIS protection or at least give a P.O. Box instead of a street address.
Registration Length

You can register your domain for only one year, or most registrars will allow you to register a domain for up to ten years at a time. If you can afford it, go for a longer registration period.

For one thing, you won’t be at risk of accidentally forgetting to renew your domain. You’d be surprised how often this happens. You may not get the reminder email, and if you don’t have it set up to automatically renew, you could lose the domain.

Another major reason to register for at least two years at a time is because some SEO experts believe Google may give a boost to sites with longer registrations. They believe Google may think a site is more trustworthy if it is registered longer, because spammers usually register for only a year, assuming they may get banned quickly, anyway.

Name Servers

In order to use your domain, you need to set up the name servers. This tells computers where to find your domain when someone tries to go there. It connects your domain with your web server.

I’m going to show you how to set up your name servers with NameCheap. You’ll need your name servers from your hosting company. You may be able to find these in your control panel, or in the welcome email you got from them. If you can’t find them, contact your hosting company and ask.

You’ll need two. They will look like this:
ns1.yourserver.com
ns2.yourserver.com

Log into NameCheap. Beside “Number of domains in your account”, click “view”. Then find the domain you want to modify and click it. In the menu on the left, click “Domain Name Server Setup”.

Click the selection field beside “Specify Custom DNS Servers (Your own DNS Servers). Then enter both DNS servers and click “Save Changes”. You’re done!

Domain Forwarding

You may not always want to host a website or blog on your domain name. You might want to use it to forward elsewhere. For example, article marketers often use domains to forward straight to their affiliate links.

It’s very simple to set up domain forward with NameCheap, but you can only use it if you are using their default name servers. You’ll have to switch them back to NameCheap’s before you proceed.

Log into your account and select Manage Domains. Click the domain you want to forward and choose “All Host Records”. In the “@” field, enter your domain name. In the “www” field, enter the URL you want to forward the domain to (for example, your affiliate link.) Be sure it says “URL Redirect” under “RECORD TYPE”.

To transfer the name servers back to NameCheap, click your domain and select “Transfer DNS Back to Us” from the left menu. Then tick the box beside “Transfer DNS to NameCheap Default DNS and click “Save Changes.” Do this before you attempt to set up forwarding; otherwise, you won’t have the option available.

Domain Parking

You can make money with your domain name when it’s not in use by parking it. You won’t make a lot unless your domain is visited very often, but it’s better than nothing if you aren’t currently using the domain, anyway.

As with forwarding, you can only park a page if you have changed your domain to NameCheap’s default name servers. Once you have done that, go to “Manage Domains”, click your domain, and select “Customize Parked Page”. You can then change your parked page to whatever you want.

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to add images to a parked page. You can only use text on it. But you can use various types of ads there. Just make sure they allow parking, because some companies (like Google AdSense) don’t allow their ads to be displayed on websites with no content, like parked pages.

Parking your domain can help you make a little money while you decide what to do with a domain, or while it is under development.

Domain Names 101.1: What Is A Domain Name?

A domain name is simply another name for your website url, or website address. For example: “http://www.domainname101.ca”. Domain Names 101.2: How To Buy A Domain Name?

There are many companies out there that offer great domain name registry services for a great price. If your paying somewhere between $20, to $30, to $40 per domain, you’re getting ripped off. The average price you should be paying for registering a domain name is around $10-$15 per year, per domain.

Step 1) You must search for an available name to buy:

Here are a couple of companies I would recommend to anyone.

  • www.godaddy.com – Always have great deals.
  • www.domainsatcost.com / or .ca – Great support & reasonable prices.
  • www.afternic.com – Buy & sell “used” domains.
  • www.netfirms.ca – Well established registar company.

Once you visit these websites you will need to look for their “search function” in order to search to see if the domain name you want is available for purchase. Within some industries like the real estate industry, you might have to search for hours before you find a suitable domain name for your business. Try mixing up the name in different variations, for example:

In this example I will use “Domain Names” for my search

  • myDomainName.com
  • DomainNames.com
  • Domain-Names.com
  • findDomains.com
  • searchDomainNames.com
  • Domainworld.com
  • Domainuniverse.com
  • localDomains.com

As you can see, I’ve tried to mix up the words “Domain Names” as much as possible. In fact, there are many companies world wide that are deciding the name for their business by the availability of domain names. Sounds funny doesn’t it? Just try searching for a domain name for “Web Design”. You might be there for hours. It may take you a few weeks to find the right domain name for your business. Once you find it, buy it!

In the past, I used to recommend to my clients that they hold off on registering their business name before searching for a domain name. Domain names are valuable net-real-estate and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Things To Avoid When Searching For A Domain Name:

  • 1) Avoid a lengthy domain: There’s nothing worst when you see someone with a domain that is way too long like; [http://www.this-is-my-domain-name-for-sale.com] . Try asking your clients to type that one in!!! The smaller your domain is, the easier it is to remember, and the less of a chance you have of someone miss typing your domain when trying to visit your website.
  • 2) Avoid dashes if possible: Dashes are fairly new to the domain world. Most people don’t think about using dashes when typing a domain name for example;  If you do use a dash, make sure to keep it to 2 words only, no more.
  • 3) Avoid domains where .com .ca .net and .biz are already taken: I made this mistake when I started out. I desperately wanted Smartads.info because smartads.com was taken. Over the years, I’ve had numerous people tell me that they couldn’t find my company, or they didn’t think I was in California. Many clients of mine were never able to remember that my domain was smartads.INFO. On top of that, I’m sure my efforts over the years have brought smartads.com a huge amount of traffic to their website from people searching online thinking it was my business they where visiting.

Domain Names 101.3: How Long Should I Buy My Domain For?

Most people register domain names for only 1 year. This is a big mistake for a couple of reasons:

1) The internet is full of scammers online who register a domain name for 1 year in order to spam, and scam as much as possible until moving onto another domain. At the same time, most companies rise and fall within 1 year. Because of this, Google and other top search engines look at this and weigh a domain name higher if the owner registers a domain name for more than 1 year. In fact, I recommend that you max out your domain name to a 10 year ownership if possible. This will tell search engines who are looking into it that you mean business, and that you’re here to stay.

2) People all over the internet register their domains for 1 year and sometimes forget to renew their domain when the renewal is due. There are companies out there that have lost their domains from a service called “domain back-ordering” were an individual can order a back-order on a specific domain claiming ownership for that domain if it goes up for sale. This is a serious matter, I’ve lost 2 important domains because of this. Trust me, this is one mistake I will never make again. If you go on vacation, or don’t pay attention, and you happen to miss the domain renewal date, someone might snatch your domain right from under your nose.

If your budget permits it, always try to max out the number of years you can buy your domain for. This way you’ll ensure that you have that domain for a very long time.

Domain Names 101.4: What is A Domain Name Extension?
An extension is the 2, or 3 digits after your name for example; . For a long time .COM was the only extension a person, or business could use. Nowadays, there are many extensions meaning different things, let’s take a look at the available extensions, and see what they stand for:

  • .Com – Universal (Commercial)
  • .Net – Network
  • .Biz – Business
  • .Org – Non-Profit
  • .Info – Information
  • .Tv – Television
  • .Ws – Web Site
  • .Coop – Business Cooperatives
  • .Name – Personal Use
  • .Pro – Professionals
  • .museum – Museum (Sources of information)
  • .travel – Travel Industry
  • .Us – United States
  • .Ca – Canada
  • .Uk – United Kingdom

To view all the domain extensions for each COUNTRTY, go here for the master list:

These extensions are reserved, and cannot be bought for personal use:

  • .Gov – Government
  • .Edu – Education
  • .Mil – Military

Domain Names 101.5: How To Protect Your Domain Name?

This topic is a very serious issue and should NOT be taken lightly. 100’s of companies across the globe are being used, abused, and scammed. The reason for this is because the owner of the domain name is sometimes NOT the real owner. If you pay for a service from your web development company that includes; your website, your hosting service, and your domain name, take action right away and make sure that YOU own the domain name rights. Many web design companies out there are registering their client’s domain names for them which can ultimately give them all rights and privileges to that domain name. When a web design company registers your domain for you, they can change the ownership to them, not you without you knowing about it. If you fail to pay for their services for any reason, they can then go back and take down your website, and control who uses the domain name. I’ve had so many calls asking for help with their domain name because their web design company won’t change the ownership for them. If your in this situation, you have a couple of options:

  • Give up now and start fresh
  • If the domain is valuable, take them to court right away
  • Contact  with proof of purchase
  • Perform a “WHOIS” lookup on the domain name (Which tells you who owns the domain name)
    • Go to  and enter your domain name
    • Save and print any information listed there

Also, try to avoid ANY company that you don’t recognize either by mail, or by email that states that you need to re-register your domain name before it expires. Do not trust any organization you don’t recognize. There are a number of companies that pool into the domain name data base in order to fish out suckers that might need to register their domains for another year very soon. I’ve gotten numerous direct mail stating that my domain is up for renewal, one of them even demanded $800 to renew my domain name. As you might know, I called this company and had a few words with them.

Prevention:

The number 1 preventative action you can take, is by holding control over your domain name. Make sure to register the domain name yourself, once you have all control yourself, then hire a web design company. Do NOT give them access to it unless you really trust them. If you do give them access to your domain manager in order to point your domain name to your hosting services, try to immediately change the password after the service is complete. NEVER give out your password for your domain manager to anyone unless you really have to.

I’ll put it another way: Would you give the combination to your safe to anyone? This situation is exactly the same. Control over your domain name is sometimes as serious as controlling your business.

Domain Names 101.6: What Is A Sub-Domain?

Sub-domains are exactly that. [http://sub.domainname.com]. Sub-domains are typically used to separate a section of your content online to target a specific area. Sub domains are also used to store information that you want no one to see. Yahoo is a great example of using sub-domains. When you go to the “Canada” side of Yahoo, you’re actually going to “ca” for Canada .yahoo.com. This helps them to separate all information for their Canadian website.

Domain Names 101.7: How To Forward A Domain Name?
Domain name forwarding can be a useful tool to use. Again, I will use Yahoo for the best example of this. I just mentioned to you how Yahoo! uses a sub-domain “ca.yahoo.com” for the Canadian content side of their website. Most people don’t know about going directly to ca.yahoo.com, most people associate Canada with the extension .CA. Yahoo uses this knowledge by registering and forwarding the domain name to > ca.yahoo.com. Try it out yourself, in your browser address bar, type in and see where it takes you.

Sometimes you need to protect your name by registering different domain name extensions, if you don’t want to build a website for each extension, and you don’t want each extension to go to a blank page, simply forward your other domain names to your main website. Another method of forwarding is by registering domain names that have a small spelling mistake which people might make all the time. Spelling mistakes are common, people are ultimately human. I know of some companies that register domain names with their company name, but that have spelling mistakes in them. They then forward > these domains with spelling errors to their main website. This ensures that there’s no loss of potential business.

Usually you can forward a domain name within your domain manager from the company you registered the domain name with.

Domain Names 101.8: How To Setup Your Domain Name?

This section above all has baffled a lot of people. Many of you might think that by registering a domain name, you can now show your website. This cannot be farther from the truth. Sure, you just registered a domain name, but your domain is like having an address without a house. In order to have the house, you need to have a “hosting service” in place. Without getting into what is a hosting service, I will tell you this; A hosting services is basically a “holding place” for your website files so that people can see your website online. Hosting is storage for your website. Your domain name needs to point to that storing place in order for the general public to view your website files.

If you don’t have any hosting services in place, try searching for (depending on your needs):

  • Small business hosting services
  • Affordable hosting services
  • Secure hosting services
  • eCommerce hosting services
  • Dedicated hosting services

Changing The DNS:

Once your hosting is setup, now you need to point your domain name to your hosting services(storage). We do this by changing the “DNS” Domain Name Servers that tell the internet were to look for your hosting service.

Step 1) You need to find out the “addresses” to your hosting service, they usually go like so: dns1.hostingservice.com, dns2.hostingservice.com. If you don’t know where to find the DNS addresses, simply contact your hosting service for them. This is typically the #1 reason why your web design company needs access to your domain manager. They need to get in and update the DNS addresses in order to point your domain name to their hosting service. I highly recommend that you learn how to do it yourself in order to keep control over who uses your domain name.

Step 2) Within your domain name manager, you’ll need to look for a link that should say; Change DNS, Update DNS, Manage Domain, etc. Once you find this area, simply type in, or paste the 2 DNS addresses within slot #1 and, slot #2. Click on the update, change, or submit button. That’s it. Within 24-48 hours, your domain name should be pointed to your hosting service.

If you have any problems with this step, simply contact your hosting service provider, or contact your web design company in charge of your website.

Remember, if you give someone access to change the DNS for your domain name(s), make sure to change the password for your domain name manager right away to ensure security over your domain name(s).

Domain Names 101.9: How To Protect Your Company Name Online?

This step is not needed for all companies, but if you plan to do all of your business online, this may save your company name later on. Branding online is very important. If by chance you do become very popular, there are going to be individuals who are going to try to use your success for their own advantage. When I started out, “Smartads” wasn’t a word that was really well known. Over the years, companies have been popping up with “Smartads Banners Ads”, “Smartads This”, and “Smartads That”. They did this because I didn’t secure all of the domain name extensions across the board.

If you’re just starting out, and you’re very serious about big business online, I recommend that you search for a domain name that has most extensions available, for example:

Make sure that these extensions are available…

  • .com
  • .whatever your country is (Ex. .CA for Canada, or .US for USA)
  • .net
  • .biz
  • .org
  • .info
  • .name

If all of these extensions are available for your business name, make sure to buy them all!!! Use .com as your main website, and forward the other domains to .com. Trust me, this will help to protect your branding online by not allowing for Joe Shmo’s to take your good name and use it for themselves. If you truly have a big budget, and your business has offices across the globe, make sure to buy all the domain names that you can, including every country extension your business operates in.

Some people online might advise you not to buy all of the above extensions, but I want you to think of this. Let’s say years down the road your company launches a new amazing product or service, and you need to build a new website for it, you now have the ability to use one of your domain names to illustrate this new product or services and keep your company branding tight!

Tips to Better Baby Sleep

One of the most rewarding things as a new parent is to hear the sweet sounds of silence; that is, your baby peacefully sleeping! Every baby is unique in their sleeping habits, and it can be a tough rough for parents to navigate.

To help you achieve better baby sleep, consider these 15 tips to improve your baby’s snooze sessions.

1. Consistency is Key

A bedtime routine can help a child to wind down before bed, and can also help them prepare mentally and physically for the end of the day. Pre-bedtime activities might include a bottle, a bedtime story, and pajamas.

When these things appear, children will know what is expected of them, and that playtime is over. Try to keep the room a little quieter when this routine begins.

2. Make Sleep Time Enjoyable

Sleep should never be seen as a bad thing in the eyes of a child. Make bedtime a soothing, relaxing experience for them by incorporating a soothing nightlight, some natural music sounds, and their favorite blanket or stuffed animal. Nighttime should be a comforting experience for them.

As an extension of that, bedtime shouldn’t always be a punishment for children. This makes sleeping, by association, a thing that children will want to avoid. If they’re in trouble, a time-out might be more helpful.

3. Swaddle Your Baby

Especially in their first few years, children will still prefer a warm, protective space similar to what the womb provided. Sleepsuits and swaddles are great for keeping the baby warm and wrapped in a comfortable position.

Swaddles can also stop babies from waking themselves up with sudden movements and jolts, and it can even halt jumpy babies from hitting or scratching themselves.

4. Give Children Time to Fall Asleep

The key to good sleep is to put your baby down while they’re still awake. This way, they associate their bed with the thing that makes them cozy and sleepy.

While it is gratifying to have your child fall asleep in your arms, this can teach them lousy sleeping habits as they get older. Having them fall asleep in their crib will help them to become more independent sleepers, and it will be much easier for you.

5. Give Kids a Moment

It’s hard to hear a baby’s cries and not tend to them-but this is precisely what you should do! If you hear your baby crying in their crib, stop and wait for a few minutes. You do not necessarily need to help them; they may already be in the habit of crying just because they don’t want to go to bed yet.

Instead, wait a little while. If children need a change or have lost their soother, you can go in. However, he or she may be able to put themselves back to sleep after a few minutes, which is a huge win.

6. Don’t Make Eye Contact

If your child makes eye contact with you during sleep time, they might think that it’s time to wake up. If you need to go into the room for any reason, try to soothe them without looking at then, and put them back down without too much interaction.

Sooth them, but do not talk to them. Keep the room dark, so it’s clear this isn’t the time to be awake.

7. Refuse the Fun

Kids can easily switch off their tired mode and head back into playtime. As a parent, it’s essential to try to stay calm and collected when bedtime rolls around.

Kids will try to entice you to have a giggle fest but now isn’t the time. Even if you feel guilty for not playing with them, this will make both of your mornings so much more manageable!

8. Avoid or Prepare for Diaper Changes

Even if you know there is going to be a mess in the morning, it is helpful to skip diaper changes. These movements might trick your baby into thinking it’s time to wake up and play.

If it’s unavoidable, have all of the necessary changing items you need in a location outside of the bedroom. This practice will help you to avoid spending too much time in the room looking for the items, and you won’t have to turn on the light to find anything.

9. Create a Soothing Environment

Soothing music can help to drown out other sounds around the house and helps to put babies to sleep faster. Choose a music player that has a few different sound options, so that you can find out what your child likes the most.

It might be white noise, water sounds, or even a lullaby. Once they’ve found something they like, have that noise playing in their bedroom before they lie down.

10. Block Out the Light

A dark room is the best way to tell your baby that it’s time to go to sleep. Additionally, if they do happen to wake up in the middle of the night, they’ll know by the darkness that it’s not time to get up yet.

Find some light-canceling curtains that will block out the light. As they get older, you may slowly open these curtains so that they don’t get too accustomed to complete darkness.

This will help them to stay asleep when they’re in new environments that don’t have the same light-canceling curtains.

11. Recognize a Tired Baby

If you see any sign of your baby feeling tired, whether it’s a yawn or rosy cheeks, take action right away. Timing is critical when it comes to a baby’s sleep, and if you miss your window, there’s a good chance you’re in for a fussy night.

These little signs show that the body is ready for sleep, and taking action right away will improve the chances that they easily drift off to sleep. Waiting too long will make your baby over-tired, and wakefulness hormones will start to kick in.

At this point, it may be too late for your baby to go to sleep without fighting. You’ll get to know the signs of your baby quickly; just be sure both parents know the signs.

12. Lower the Temperature

People of all ages tend to get better rest when they sleep in colder temperatures. The thermostat should be between 68 and 72 Fahrenheit so that your child can experience their most comfortable rest.

Not sure if they’re too cold? Lots of parents tend to feel their baby’s fingers or toes when they’re checking their temperature. In most cases, these body parts will feel chilly, but it doesn’t mean your baby is cold.

Instead, check the temperature of your baby’s chest. This part of the body is the area that will tell you if they’re comfortable or not.

13. Have Necessities Ready

A full diaper might mean a massive mess in your baby’s crib, but turning on the lights and trying to do a total sheet change is game over for a good sleep. Instead, be prepared with necessities always at-the-ready. To do this, you might consider putting extra sheets and swaddles in a cabinet outside of the bedroom.

You might also consider adding a waterproof pad between two sheets. If a mess does occur, you can peel off the sheet and pad and still have a dry layer waiting underneath. Preparation will make the sheet change a quick, simple process, and your baby will be back in bed in no time.

14. Tag Team

Partners who can get a solid 5 hours of sleep each night is critical to their overall health and their performance as parents. To do this, partners must work as a team each night, even though the nursing job is a one-person show.

Partners can wait their turn, changing or soothing the baby, or whatever else is needed. Depending on work schedules, you might have varied “night shifts” so that everyone still feels rested in the morning.

15. Lead Children to the Pacifier

Lots of babies wake up in the night simply because they cannot find their pacifiers. You can fix this issue by teaching your child to learn where they can find a pacifier on their own!

Simply put pacifiers in each corner of the crib, then spend each night guiding your baby’s arm to reach for the pacifiers in any corner. This practice will ensure that no matter how they twist and turn, they’ll be able to locate an edge of the crib.

After about a week, they should know to reach for the corners and find the pacifier themselves. This will alleviate the need for parents to go into the bedroom at all.

A Better Sleep for All

By following these tips, not only will the baby get a night of better sleep, but her parents will, too! Consider incorporating these suggestions so that everyone gets to bed on time and wake up feeling happy and refreshed.

While Volkswagen cars have always sold in large numbers throughout

While Volkswagen cars have always sold in large numbers throughout America, it’s a surprising fact that Europe’s largest car manufacturer hasn’t actually had a manufacturing presence in the country since the first Back to the Future movie was in cinemas. However, it seems that all that is in the past now; because Volkswagen have recently opened up a brand-new state of the art production plant in Tennessee.

Although it’s just newly built, this plant is already churning out thousands of their new Passat and Jetta ranges. And whats more, it’s all part of a master plan for the German auto-makers to oust Toyota and GM as the largest car makers the world.

Back in the 70s, with the Middle East Oil Crisis in full swing, VW was the go-to brand for people looking for fuel-efficiency and reliability in their cars. After all, who didn’t want to save money on their gas bills? At the same time, their profile was raised by a certain Love Bug called Herbie – star of a series of Disney movies that really helped to reinforce the VW brand in America. So, just what went wrong that caused Herbie to lose out and become a minor player in the car market of the frugal American? Well, the answer is simple; Japan is what happened.

Before VW could even cash in on its reputation as the go to car for fuel impoverished American drivers, Toyota appeared with its cheap, gas-sipping imports. Since Toyota’s cars were a lot cheaper than VW (in build as well as in price it has to be said), they were also more frugal so, naturally people switched to the Japanese imports and left VW high and dry. Now, Volkswagen wasn’t known for its attention to quality at the time either so, as soon as the oil crisis receded at the end of the 70s, Toyota swiftly moved its focus to adding high-quality build specs to the mix. VW had nothing left to answer back with and to make things worse, they had trouble with labor relations and the American factory workers unions. It wasn’t long before they shut down their plants altogether in America.Ever since the 80s, any VW sold in America has either had to be imported from Germany or from Mexico. You can’t really blame American drivers for not choosing VW cars since the 80’s because the cars that VW tried to sell in America were basically the same ones that were designed for Europe.

However, all that has changed now for, with its new US factories, VW is finally beginning to push out versions of its famous Passat and Jetta models that are specifically designed for America. The Jetta, which is already in dealerships, has actually shown good sales but it isn’t time yet for buyers to rejoice. You see, the reason that demand is so strong is that they’ve been forced to price the car several thousand dollars lower than what last year’s imported Jetta used to sell for. It might take buyers a while to realize that this isn’t the Jetta of last year. VW didn’t just take thousands of dollars off the price of the model; they took away lots of important value-adding stuff from the car as well.

Cost cutting has also found its way into the now-legendary VW build quality. For example, the rear brakes are now cheap drum brakes and not discs. Looking all around, it’s very clear that they’ve cut just about everything from the car. The interior is a sea of bland plastic; the in-car information display is visibly inferior to anything you’ve seen on competing models from Chevrolet, Ford or Toyota. And the moment you see the trunk hinges that are likely to crush your luggage, you’ll weep.

The last decade has been witness to a comedy revival of sorts in Hollywood. A new batch of comedic superstars has hit the scene. Instead of simply being actors who say funny lines, this talented group is heavily involved in the writing and production stages of their movies and television shows.

One of the mainstay comedic actors working today is Will Ferrell. He started his career on “Saturday Night Live” in the 1990s and is well known for his portrayals of George W. Bush, Harry Caray, and James Lipton. During his enormously popular seven-year career at “SNL,” he had roles in the “Austin Powers” movies and played fashion designer Mugatu in “Zoolander.” He landed his first starring role in “Old School,” and his movie career and popularity skyrocketed. He has starred in such films as “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” and “Step Brothers.” In 2007, Ferrell launched the “Funny or Die” website, which is a streaming video site dedicated to comedic short films. Ferrell also produces the HBO comedy “Eastbound and Down.” Although Ferrell has been relatively quiet on the recent movie scene, 2013’s “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” should see him return to the top of the box-office charts.

Another very funny actor who has been around for a number of years is Zach Galifianakis. Active in standup comedy for years, his first acting role was as a recurring character on NBC’s “Boston Commons” in 1996. Over the next few years, he had parts in the movies “Out Cold” and “Corky Romano,” and he had a Comedy Central special that started with a comedy routine and finished with his playing piano. In 2002, Galifianakis had a talk show on VH1 titled “Late World with Zach.” He was able to bring in many of his friends from the Los Angeles comedy and music scenes, and this helped build his credibility in Hollywood. He then stayed busy with various acting jobs on “The Sarah Silverman Program” and “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job.” In 2009, Galifianakis had his breakout role as Alan Garner in “The Hangover.” His hilarious portrayal of mentally unstable Alan led to his being cast in such movies as “Dinner for Schmucks,” “Due Date” with Robert Downey, Jr., and “The Campaign” with Will Ferrell. He reprised his role as awkward Alan in the second and third “Hangover” movies, is a recurring contributor to “Funny or Die,” and continues to do standup across the country.

Steve Carell makes audiences laugh across almost every platform imaginable. He got his start on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” where he spent five years as a correspondent. He found great popularity playing aloof boss Michael Scott on “The Office” in the late 2000s. After the release of 2005’s “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” which Carell cowrote, he appeared in “Anchorman” and had starring roles in “Evan Almighty” and the movie remake of “Get Smart.” Carell is also a fantastic voice actor and has been featured in “Over the Hedge,” “Horton Hears a Who,” and “Despicable Me.” With his upcoming roles in “Anchorman 2” and “The Way, Way Back,” Carell will continue to be considered one of the funniest actors working today.

The always outrageous Kenny Powers is played to perfection by Danny McBride on HBO’s “Eastbound and Down.” McBride writes, produces, and acts in this comedy about a down-on-his-luck baseball pitcher whose crude behavior makes him somehow loveable. McBride’s trademark mullet and rapid-fire delivery have landed him some unforgettable roles in “Tropic Thunder,” “Pineapple Express,” and “This Is the End,” in which he plays an exaggerated version of himself. McBride’s distinctive southern accent made him ideal to do voice work in the animated hits “Despicable Me” and “Kung Fu Panda 2.” McBride’s popularity makes him a frequent guest of the late-night television circuit, and he appears in cameos too numerous to count.

A practicing physician in California, Ken Jeong was a regular performer at The Improv and Laugh Factory in Los Angeles when he played the role of Dr. Juni in “Knocked Up.” This role allowed him to quit medicine and devote all of his time to comedy. He quickly received roles in “Pineapple Express” and “Role Models,” and then he pulled off his biggest role as Mr. Chow in “The Hangover” and its sequels. During this time, Jeong also played the role of Ben Chang on NBCs “Community.” Jeong is busy with voice work as well and can be heard in the upcoming “Despicable Me 2” and “Turbo.” Jeong has several writing and producing projects in various stages of development.

Gone are the days when a handsome actor simply recited lines and was considered a comedic success. The current top-tier comedic actors prefer to be involved in all phases of their projects. They also have no problem switching mediums, as most of them are involved in television, movies, and the Internet. With their years of experience and seemingly endless talents, you can expect these actors to keep you laughing for years to come.

If you go with what most people are saying about the NIV Life Application Study Bible you can’t really go wrong if you ever decide buying it. It’s without a doubt the most popular study Bible you can find on the market today. But one good translation you might consider that is also popular is the NLT (the New Living Translation). Those who have it, really love it. And it is not coming too far behind the NIV. You have also the KJ, the NKJ and the NASB. But the NIV and the NLT remain the most popular versions.

You can have the NIV Life Application Study Bible in different formats like hard copy and leather-bound, as well as in normal or larger print. The hard copy is published by Tyndale and the leather-bound mostly by Zondervan.

As for why this type of Bible is so popular I think that by taking a peek inside it is pretty obvious.

If you open the book on the Old Testament you will find – if you are familiar with the Bible – the first book called Genesis along with statistics about who wrote it, to whom it is addressed essentially, as well as where and in what time it was written. And you are also introduced to whom are the most important characters in that particular book and in what period of times they lived.

Introductions to each book is common to almost all study Bible. But what is unique to that Bible is the personality profiles it has on the major characters you will find with their strengths and their weaknesses. You have also a blueprint of the different stories with references to what chapters and verses you can find them in the book in question to make your research easier.

You have a map of the regions to where those events took place as well as notes along with it. Then you have the usual Bible text with cross references on the right margin and notes underneath.

That’s only an example of what you can find in this particular study Bible.

If you go almost to the back-end of it you will find the index to the notes in alphabetic order, as well as maps and charts.

One thing that I like is the harmony of the Gospels incorporated in this Bible. It really puts the life and story of the main and most important personality of the Bible – Jesus Christ – into better perspective.

So there you have it. Of course this is only a pale view of what you can find inside, but you have a small idea. The NIV Life Application Study Bible is found either in local Christian bookstores or with well-known online retailers like Amazon.com at a fair price.

You might have heard about those metered strikes that never happen.

You might have heard about those metered strikes that never happen. Or the fact that some islands in the world can only exist for a decade or so before being submerged by global warming, but they still exist half a century later. While global warming may be a threat, are we getting fake survival warnings to prepare ourselves when there is still time?

All major issues concerning individual nations like the 2016 Presidential election in US and the Brexit vote in the United Kingdom or those issues that are of concern to the whole world like the issue of global warming and climate change are threatened by fake news which can lead to catastrophic results. While the subject of fake news has gained a wider audience following the 2016 US election, fake news has still had a worrisome impact on us.

Fake news is not a recent phenomenon and has existed for a long time but its impact has become more widespread with the spread of the internet and social media. The fake news phenomenon has been aided by the rapid expansion of the digital medium and its capacity to deliver any message across the globe at lightening fast speed. It leads to a situation where such fake news can’t be checked, verified or challenged before it is made available worldwide.

Scientists grapple with fake news. Scientists studying climate change are grappling with this phenomenon of fake news which is able to sow the seeds of confusion in the minds of both the general public whose support is necessary to implement changes to save the environment as well as the decision makers who have the responsibility of making decisions which even if painful are necessary to stop further environmental damage.

In such a scenario it is necessary that scientists step up their efforts for wider dissemination of correct and factual data so that people become more science literate and can appreciate facts as they are and are not swayed by misinformation campaigns and deliberately leaked fake news. World bodies like the United Nations believes that the 2030 sustainable development goals can be met only if scientific literature and discoveries get a wider audience.

The misinformation campaigns and deliberately leaked fake news and controversies have led to a situation where polls both in the US and UK show that even though a large majority of scientists agree to the fact that climate change phenomenon of the modern era is largely fueled by human activities, the general populace is not aware of such unanimity on the issue while many believe that it is still an unsettled issue. Such a large scale denial of climate change and its causes is a direct result of the failure of the scientific community to effectively challenge fake news about the issue.

A change of habits is needed. In their quest of wider dissemination of correct and factual data, scientists must change their long ingrained habit of sharing information among the scientific community as their prime objective and instead must develop the habit of sharing their information not only with the scientific community but with the general public also.

In their pursuit of disseminating scientific information scientists must use the help of latest technological tools so that they are able to develop effective means of two-way communication with the general public. The new interdisciplinary field of translational ecology can help scientists work towards changing environmental research into public policy.

Turning the current scenario into one where society understands and appreciates their point of view and is able to ascertain and understand the facts about climate change is essential if environmental issues are to receive widespread support across the world. One of the ways by which we can support the growth of scientific temper is to know what fake news is and trying to stop it from spreading.

What is fake news? Ever since ancient times, rulers have indulged in slanting and planting news to serve their interests. But giving a slant to a news to suit one’s beliefs or ideology cannot be called fake news. Fake news can be described as a completely fabricated story without any basis that has been floated by vested interests to serve their own purpose.

We are also to blame! Today with the advent of the internet everyone from an individual to media to government have a share in the spread of fake news even though their motives to do so may vary from increasing political clout, to achieving financial goals or any personal agenda. But how to know whether the news is genuine or fake?

In sifting for fake news, look at the origins of the news. If it is carried by a legitimate source of news chances are that it will not be fake but if it has originated from sources you have not heard of or are known to be of dubious nature then you must take such news with a pinch of salt and verify it from a known authentic source before you start believing it. The most obvious solution for checking the spread of fake news is human intervention. Technology by itself cannot sift and segregate fake news. Realizing this dimension Facebook has started such a practice and has enlisted International Fact Checking Network to look into that news that users have flagged as deliberate fakes.

Stopping the spread of fake news, you yourself must start to take responsibility of what you share. Do not share anything on the social media without going into the detail of the story or the photograph. Check the source of the story or the photo you wish to circulate and only if they come from some reputable sources should you share them.

Also start the practice of pointing any fake news to its sender. Maybe they do not know the true facts and forwarded it thinking it to be true and you could help them stop the spread of such news.

Only such collective actions by the scientific community and the general public will help us in tackling environmental issues like climate change.

Plan, prepare, protect, get through, hold on, hold out, make it, and keep body, soul and family together. You need a plan to prepare and to protect yourself and your family. Survival is our Strategy!”
